    103 Professionals, 6 Qualifying Spots, 1 Goal

On August 7 – 8, our PGA Professionals traveled to Lake Nona Golf & Country Club to compete in the North Florida PGA Professional Championship. This championship is a special one, not just because all four Chapters from the Section come together, but because it provides a chance to secure a spot to play in the 2024 PGA Professional Championship.

All eyes were on last year’s champion, John Somers, as he looked to defend his title this year. Somers started strong in round 1 by shooting 8-under 64 in the sizzling heat. Staying close behind was Rod Perry with a 5-under 67, Stephanie Connelly-Eiswerth with a 4-under 68, and Hayes Farley and Greg Koch with a 3-under 69.

The leaderboard was tight through round 2 as players battled for the title. Somers made an eagle on the par-5 11th hole and was able to secure a one-shot victory with a total of 10-under 134. Stephanie Connelly-Eiswerth finished as Runner-Up with a total of 9-under 135.
