Section Majors Combined Due to Hurricane Debby

As many of you know, Hurricane Debby forced us to postpone the NFPGA Professional Championship. After carefully considering various options, the Tournament Committee proposed to the Board that the NFPGA Professional Championship (PPC) be combined with the Section Championship. On August 14, the board unanimously approved this recommendation. This decision necessitated a change in venues for the Section Championship because national partnership elements require the PPC to be hosted at a course with a Club Car fleet.  Below is a summary and FAQ.

6 qualifying spots are allocated.  Note:  Rod Perry and John Somers are exempt.

Will there be a purse for the Section Championship and PPC?
Per the National Office, when a PPC and Section Championship are combined, there can only be one purse. Optional games are an exception, and the National Office approved Skins, Players Pool, and Women’s Championship.

Are these events being combined permanently?
The combination of these events was approved for only 2024.

What if I had entered the PPC and cannot play on the new date?
Please notify Alejandra Sanchez at asanchez@pgahq.com; she will issue you a full refund.

What if I had entered the PPC and plan to play in the combined event?
If you entered the PPC, your entry fee will be applied to the combined event. You will receive an invoice for the difference ($210). If you entered the PPC and opted into Skins, your invoice will include the additional $10 skins fee.

What if I had entered the Section Championship before entries were paused?
If you entered the Section Championship before entries were paused and also entered the PPC, your entry fee for the Section Championship will be refunded. If you did not enter the PPC, your Section Championship entry will be transferred to the combined event, and you will be sent an invoice for the entry fee difference. Your entire entry fee will be refunded if you do not want to be entered in the combined event.
