North Florida PGA Jr. League Champion Season Concludes for 2024
The North Florida PGA is thrilled to announce the conclusion of our 2024 Jr. League Section Championship! This marked the end to a fantastic PGA Jr. League Championship Season. This tournament showcased the incredible talent and sportsmanship of young golfers across the region. Held on Sunday, August 18th at the beautiful Cabot Citrus Farms on The Squeeze Course, this year’s championship saw fierce competition, with the Marriott teams emerging as champions in both the 13u and 17u divisions.
PGA Jr. League is a youth golf program that brings together young athletes in a team-oriented environment, where they can develop their skills, build confidence, and foster a love for the game. The program is designed for boys and girls, typically aged 17 and under, and offers a fun and inclusive way to compete, learn, and grow as golfers. With a format similar to Little League baseball, PGA Jr. League emphasizes team play, camaraderie, and mentorship, making it an excellent introduction to competitive golf.
The North Florida PGA Jr. League Section Championship was a day filled with exciting matches and memorable moments. Four teams – Marriott, Tampa, Carrollwood, and Cheval – competed in the 13u division, battling it out for the coveted title of Section champion. After a series of intense rounds, the Marriott team emerged victorious, showcasing their skill and teamwork. In the 17u division, the competition was equally fierce, with Marriott facing off against Bradenton in a head-to-head battle for the championship. The Marriott team was able to secure the 17u division and both Marriott teams have earned the honor of representing North Florida in the upcoming Regional Qualifier. The Regional Qualifier will be held at The Park at West Palm from September 20-22. This is a significant achievement for these young golfers, and we have no doubt that they will continue to impress as they compete on a larger stage.
The North Florida PGA extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the teams that participated in this year’s Championship Season and to the teams that participated in both the qualifiers and the Section Championship. Each player demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship, dedication, and a true love for the game.
We also want to thank Cabot Citrus Farms for hosting the championship on The Squeeze Course, providing a stunning backdrop for this unforgettable day of golf. As we look forward to the Regional Qualifier, we wish the Marriott teams the best of luck and are excited to see how far they will go in this season’s PGA Jr. League competition.
