U.S. Army Veteran and Orlando Local, Josh Miller, Named North Florida PGA’s First-Ever PGA HOPE National Ambassador

The North Florida PGA is proud to announce that Josh Miller, a retired U.S. Army Sergeant First Class, has been selected as the first-ever PGA HOPE National Ambassador from the North Florida PGA. With a distinguished military career spanning over 25 years, Josh brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and passion to this prestigious role. Josh’s journey in the U.S. Army is a testament to dedication and service. Enlisting in the Army at a young age, he rose through the ranks to become a Sergeant First Class, a role that demands exceptional leadership and a commitment to his fellow soldiers. His military career, which he describes as a privilege, allowed him to serve his country with honor for more than two decades.

Though Josh only began golfing in May 2024, his connection to the sport goes back nearly three decades. A fan since 1995, he has always appreciated the nuances of the game. When he finally picked up a club, his passion for golf grew quickly, leading him to participate in the PGA HOPE program in the Spring of 2024 at Royal St. Cloud Golf Links. Josh’s decision to apply for the PGA HOPE National Ambassador Program was driven by his desire to make a difference in the lives of others. “While researching the PGA HOPE program, I came across the Ambassador Program,” Josh explains. “I saw it as a great opportunity to apply my leadership skills and thoughtful personality to help grow the program and inspire others to get involved.”

As the first National Ambassador for PGA HOPE from the North Florida PGA, Josh is excited about the impact he can have on the program and its participants. He is particularly looking forward to hearing the stories and perspectives of fellow service members. “It’s always fascinating to learn about their experiences, passions, and what drives them,” he says. Josh views this role as a meaningful opportunity to make a difference and contribute to the growth of PGA HOPE. Josh’s favorite aspect of the program was the camaraderie it fostered amongst participants. He credits the program leaders from Royal St. Cloud, Doug Holloway, PGA and Scott Yancy, for creating an environment that fostered a memorable experience. “The best part was the camaraderie,” Josh reflects, “combined with Doug and Scott’s ability to make the experience enjoyable and impactful.”

A Bright Future for PGA HOPE:

With Josh Miller leading the way as the North Florida PGA’s first PGA HOPE National Ambassador, the future of the program looks bright. His leadership, passion for the game, and dedication to his fellow veterans make him the best person to inspire others and help grow PGA HOPE to new heights. We congratulate Josh Miller on this achievement and look forward to the positive influence he will undoubtedly have on the PGA HOPE community. The North Florida PGA is excited to have him join us in our journey to impact veterans across the Section with PGA HOPE.
