Rod Perry, Crane Lakes, killed two birds with one stone with his victory at the NFPGA Section Championship.
His final 54 hole total of -12 was impressive. Rod’s Section Championship victory earned him a spot in the Bay Hill Invitational, courtesy of Mr. Palmer! He also clinched the Player of the Year honors which earned him a spot in the CMN Classic at Disney this Fall! Rod capped off an exceptional season of competition highlighted by his T2 finish at the National PNC along with playing in the PGA Championship. He is the “man to beat” right now! Congratulations Rod! Hats off to Clint Avret, Timuquana CC, for his stellar play to keep the pressure on Rod and a 9 under finish! David Hronek, Plantation Golf & CC along with Donny Lee from Core Golf Academy finished T3 with their solid play at 6 under. Our Senior Champion is Jim Slattery, Belleair CC who defeated Mike Smith from Titusville in sudden death!
Both finished at 3 over from the back tees of the regular division. Alex Romanoff, Habitat GC, finished third at +4.
Our Legends Division champion is Bob Dickson, whose PGA TOUR experience lifted him to an even par total. He’s
still got game! Fred Bender, Pasadena Hill Golf, finished second at +6.

Global Golf Cup and Stats Fore Cash competitions created lots of excitement and interest from all the players.
Now we just have to finish crunching all those fun stats! Lots of money was distributed to those who played
in all the Section Majors and their Chapter Championship. In fact, The total purse for our Section Championship was

Thank you to Glen Murray and his entire staff of the Ritz-Carlton Members Club for their exceptional service. The course was in fabulous condition and Mother Nature cooperated nicely! Thank you to our PGCC volunteers who make us look good! They are always on time and work hard. Once again, the season wrapped up with a fabulous venue and we’re already planning and looking forward to next year! Thank you to all who took the time to compete. It was so cool to see old friendships rekindled and new one’s sparked. Sure, it’s about competing and playing the best you can play, but in these hectic times, it’s also about getting away to tee it with friends and fellow PGA Professionals. We hope you can make it a priority to play more and compete! Isn’t that why we really got into this profession?
