Communication Strategy Update - 1/8/18
Welcome to the inaugural issue of For the Member, the new weekly e-journal of the North Florida PGA!  For the Member was designed to provide you interesting, relevant and up-to-date information in an easy to read mobile-friendly format.  As you scan For the Member, you will see four key sections, Latest News, Upcoming Events (with info/registration links), Member Recognition, and Business Impact Partners.
We recognize you get many emails and it is easy just to delete informational newsletters, so we are working to streamline all our communications, in order to not bombard your inbox with too many emails each week.  Here is a summary of when and what we will be communicating to you:
For the Member is sent to all members and this is the NFPGA’s main information source for Section and Chapter news!
At times there will be specific Chapter News not included in Monday’s For the Member.  When this specific chapter news needs to be communicated, it will be done in a Special Chapter Update.
Business Impact Partners are important to the sustainability of the Section.  A valuable benefit we can provide to our Business Impact Partners is the ability for them to communicate a message to the NFPGA Members.  Thus, on Fridays look for an exclusive message from our partners that may just help you grow your business.
Deadline Reminders
By nature most of us procrastinate. As such, deadline reminders are an important communication, so you don’t miss registering for an event.  48 hours in advance of a deadline, members will receive a short deadline reminder with a link to register.  On the day of the deadline, members will receive a text message with a registration link and reminder to register.
Note:  “Tournament Fliers” will no longer be sent for Section and Chapter Events.  Instead, all tournament information is available 24/7 on our tournament portal.
Special News Bulletins
In some situations, there is news that needs to be communicated outside of our news cycle, e.g., time-sensitive announcements, passing of a member. In these cases, a special news bulletin will be sent to the membership.
We trust you will find the information in For the Member interesting and relevant to you, and you take a few minutes each Monday to scan.

North Florida Section Elects New Secretary

Our 38th Annual Meeting was one of the largest ever! Over 300 Members and guests were in attendance! PGA of America President Paul Levy was in the house too! It was a great day of camaraderie and learning! It was also an election year. Kevin Paschall, Serenoa and Legacy Clubs was elected our new NFPGA Secretary. John Hughes, John Hughes Golf moved up to President. Charlie Rymer, The Golf Channel moved up to Vice President. Clint Avret, Timuquana CC remains our Tournament Chair. Thank you to our other candidates Brendon Elliott and Mackenzie Mack for their passion to serve! Our new Executive Director Steve McMillen, PGA was formally introduced and laid out a great plan and inspiration for our future! We are all in good hands.

A special tribute was made to M.G. Orender as a PGA Legend recipient. We also recognized our National Award Winners Brendon Elliott and David Leadbetter. All of our Section Partners were recognized and many had displays in the back of the room.

Thank you to our home site Reunion Resort for hosting and their attention to detail. There is a lot of planning to such an event and it went off without a hitch!
